Elephants in Maine

We went to visit Rosie and Opal, two former circus elephants who enjoy their retirement in Hope, Maine.

Bremen Lobster Wharf

We drove to Bremen to get some lobsters and were greeted by the calm see and
 a few lobster boats.

October Sunset

The days are warm, the mornings and evenings cool and the sunsets spectacular!

The last ice patch left the lake last week and yesterday the first boat was sighted.
The crocuses in front of the cabins are showing their yellow heads and the daffodils are ready to explode in color. Ah Spring!!!!

Early Spring

The snow is receding but the lake is still frozen solid a few days after Spring Solstice.

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Kelly from Romney Ridge Farm dyed some variegated yarn that shows the colors of Maine's woods and water. What better way to show it off than adding a lobster. This is a backpack for sleepovers. It's big enough to hold pajamas, a toothbrush and a few other items one needs on a sleepover.

Mohair cape

What better way to spend a late winter day than walking in the sun being wrapped up in a mohair cape.

Last Sunset 2012

This was the view I had from my living room on the last day of 2012. The sun set way down over the lake but was just as spectacular as it is when our guests are here.
