Topsham Fair

Mom and babies from Heron Crossing Farm in Whitefield hanging out at the Topsham Fair.

Kermit

This frog has been visiting our house. (S)he climbed up on the porch door and is waiting for insects to have for a late evening snack - not a long wait!

The good life!

Our guests from Pennsylvania have been coming for many years, a large extended family. They bring their boats, trampoline and a lot of good  spirit!

Cheating....

Instead of raking wild blueberries for many hours we picked high-bush berries the size of grapes in a lot less time!

The Sheepscot River

Paddling north on the Sheepscot we travelled into a lake and saw the Camden Hills in the distance.

Ice Boaters

The members of the Chickawaukee Ice Sailors Club are getting ready to spend the day on Damariscotta Lake. At least a dozen ice boats sail back and forth in front of the cabins and are a delight to watch as they speed across the lake.

ice skating

Here it is - the perfect day for ice skating!

After some rain and freezing temperatures, the lake is a sheet of ice and looks like glass - we were able to skate across the entire lake.

Lace cowl

Just finished this cowl, knit from a blend of a baby mohair goat's first shearing, Diane's finnsheep and silk. It is as soft as angora and as lustrious as mink and, oh, so warm, whether wrapped around the neck or worn as a headscarf.

We have very little snow this winter but were graced with snowfall on Christmas Day
