Philippa and Cosby

Philippa owns Hidden Acres Llama Farm here in Jefferson.
The yarn for the jacket came from last year's shearing and after I finished knitting it we visited Cosby to say "thank you" for keeping Philippa cozy and warm.

Knitting and lunch

Michelle and Elaine stopped by today
to knit and eat and talk
about knitting and publishing.

The March sun brightened up the day and our spirits.

The Colors of Romney Ridge Farm

Just in time for the Maine Products Show:
Kelley of Romney Ridge Farm in Woolwich asked me to design a sweater with seven colors of her Romney Ridge wool - and here it is.

Hunting

I found this old sign on one of my hikes in Jefferson:

"NO OUTER STATER ALLOWED TO HUNT HERE".

Knit, Spin, Spa in Freeport

As you can see, the Spa providers had time for fun this year. The event was well attended even though we had rain, snow, wind and power outages.
But since the event was moved from Portland to Freeport, it has become more about shopping than about Reflexology, Massage and Reiki.

The ladies enjoyed a Paraffin Wax Treatment to pamper our hands which are always busy.

The Maine Moose

To celebrate our moose I designed the Maine Moose sweater. Graham received one for Christmas. The wool is from Heron Crossing Farm's finnsheep in Whitefield. My friend Diane owns the farm and it is the softest Maine sheep wool I have worked with.

I sell my patterns at $10.00 each.

Hiking on one of DLWA's new trails we found several moose tracks and some damage the huge animals had inflicted on small trees. The brook which sports a small bridge is still frozen.
On the trail we found fine fur and some blood, signs of a recent tragedy.
